Flood prone areas in N. Cotabato to receive early warning devices

KIDAPAWAN CITY, North Cotabato, Oct. 2 (PIA) -- Flood prone towns in North Cotabato are set to receive flood early warning devices from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). Engineer Noli Villaruz, Action and Warning Officer of the Provincial Governor's Office-Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Division (PGO-DRRMD), said that the early warning devices (EWD) are intended to lessen the effects of floods in communities along flood-prone rivers. According to Villacruz, the EWDs composed of electric siren, LED beacon, controller box, and solar panel, will be installed in Pigcawayan, Kabacan, Pikit, M'lang and Tulunan.
