DOST-CAR deploys STARBOOKS in 42 public schools Posted: Saturday, January 20, 2018 BAGUIO CITY, Jan. 19 (PIA) -- Science and technology (S&T) awareness among Cordillera students is expected to be heightened with the installation of digital libraries in at least 42 public schools in the region.
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Department of Education (DepEd) signed a memorandum of agreement for the installation of the Science & Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated Kiosk System (STARBOOKS) in the region's identified 42 public schools.
DOST-CAR Assistant Regional Director Nancy Bantog said recipients are 11 schools in Abra, five in Apayao, seven in Benguet, two in Ifugao, four in Kalinga, and 13 in Mountain Province. Nineteen will be powered through solar while 23 units will be run through electricity.

The furniture makers were participants to a series of trainings for Abra-based furniture producers organized by the Department of Science and Technology-Cordillera Administrative Region (DOST-CAR) thru the Provincial S&T Center-Abra in partnership with DOST-Forest Product Research and Development Institute (FPRDI).
