DOST-CAR deploys STARBOOKS in 42 public schools

BAGUIO CITY, Jan. 19 (PIA) -- Science and technology (S&T) awareness among Cordillera students is expected to be heightened with the installation of digital libraries in at least 42 public schools in the region.  The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Department of Education (DepEd) signed a memorandum of agreement for the installation of the Science & Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated Kiosk System (STARBOOKS) in the region's identified 42 public schools.  DOST-CAR Assistant Regional Director Nancy Bantog said recipients are 11 schools in Abra, five in Apayao, seven in Benguet, two in Ifugao, four in Kalinga, and 13 in Mountain Province. Producers can use left-over materials from production and turn them into something useful.  This piece of advice from Forester Moreno L. Santander, Jr. inspired Abra furniture makers to explore their imagination to come up with unique, creative products.
